MY DESIGN JOURNEY

I have always been creative. I have designed opera sets and stage costumes and I have many years’ experience designing and teaching crafts. In 2011 I embarked on formal art training completing a Art and Design Foundation in 2013. It was during this time that I first encountered glass, I went on to study BA hons Designer Maker at The University of Brighton, graduating in 2016 where I specialised in glass. I have exhibited widely within the UK and I am represented in several galleries and shops. Since graduation I have been teaching glass and have gained a reputation as a very patience and knowledgeable tutor.

My work is inspired by the very nature of the material I work with. It is hard but soft, strong but fragile. Most important is the intensity of colour and the way light plays with the material. I draw further inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, local gardens and the stunning Sussex landscape.
